About the Collaboration
The Andi Brand, a company that creates eco-friendly handbags, approached Simmons for an original design. Simmons believes that women carry everything around– literally and figuratively, and this duality is demonstrated through the opposition of the two sides of a handbag. One side is covered with colorful and artistic hearts while the other side features exclamatory speech bubbles and a patch that says “Emotional Baggage” in the middle.
The resulting piece, aptly named “Emotional Baggage”, beautifully incorporates Simmons' signature playful and vibrant color palette along with her whimsical design aesthetic.
The double-sided handbag showcases bright bubbles with captivating typography on one side, while the other side features artistic and colorful hearts. Building on their partnership, they also created a removable strap that can be used with any handbag, further expanding the versatility of the design.
